Questions about choosing a plan

Which plans offer Cancel for Any Reason?

Cancel for Any Reason is an optional upgrade on Travel Insured Deluxe and Platinum, Trawick Pathway Premier, WorldTrips Atlas Journey Explore and Elevate, and Go Ready Choice.

  • Not offered on Trawick Pathway Plus.
  • Not part of the plans we offer to New York residents. WorldTrips Atlas Journey Preferred and Premier offer Cancel for Fortuitous Reasons in New York, and the Go Ready Choice New York version offers Cancel for Any Fortuitous Reason.
  • WorldTrips has told us it does not offer this upgrade for trips to Israel.

What is the time-sensitive period for each plan?

The time-sensitive period is the number of days after your first trip payment in which you must buy to get certain benefits.

  • Travel Insured Deluxe: 14 days. Platinum: 21 days. New York plan: 21 days.
  • Trawick Pathway Plus: 14 days (21 in the New York version). Pathway Premier: 21 days for Cancel for Any Reason; its pre-existing waiver runs until your final trip payment due date.
  • WorldTrips Atlas Journey (all plans): 21 days.
  • Go Ready Choice: 14 days for the pre-existing condition waiver (21 in the New York version). Cancel for Any Reason: the plan cost must be received within one day of your first trip payment (New York version: Cancel for Any Fortuitous Reason, 21 days).

State versions can differ, so check your plan document.

How do I get pre-existing conditions covered?

Buy the plan within its time-sensitive period after your first trip payment, and be medically able to travel on the day you buy. If you meet the conditions, the plan waives its pre-existing condition exclusion.

  • Travel Insured Deluxe: within 14 days. Platinum: within 21 days.
  • Trawick Pathway Plus: within 14 days. Pathway Premier: on or before your final trip payment due date.
  • WorldTrips Atlas Journey: within 21 days.
  • Go Ready Choice: within 14 days (New York version: within 21 days, and later trip arrangements must be insured within 21 days of paying for them).
  • New York versions (Travel Insured and Trawick): within 21 days (Trawick Premier: by the final payment due date), and you must also insure all prepaid, non-refundable trip costs.

What is the difference between the plans?

What if the program operator goes bankrupt or disappears with my money?

Travel Insured, Trawick and WorldTrips plans list supplier bankruptcy or financial default as a reason, but the conditions differ, and on some plans it will not help with the operator you paid.

  • All of these plans: the supplier must completely stop providing travel services, more than 14 days after your coverage began.
  • Travel Insured New York plan: does not cover the default of the tour operator, agency or firm you bought the trip from.
  • Travel Insured Deluxe and Platinum: the exclusions say there is no coverage for the financial default of "Your Travel Supplier". Confirm with Travel Insured in writing before relying on it.
  • Trawick Florida and California: not for a firm that sold you arrangements supplied by others; you must insure the full trip cost, pay for the plan by final payment, and depart within 15 months.
  • WorldTrips and Trawick New York: you must buy within 21 days of your first trip payment. These documents have no exclusion for the company you bought from.
  • Go Ready Choice: does not list supplier bankruptcy or financial default as a reason. The New York version lists it only for airlines, cruise lines, rental car companies, hotels, condominiums and motor coach companies, more than 14 days after coverage begins.
